This JIKO Policy Paper analyses the "Katowice Climate Package" and its Transparency Framework regarding their relevance for cooperative approaches under Article 6.2. The paper asks whether the Transparency Framework could be used as a ‘backstop‘ for cooperative approaches. This question is explored by looking at the three objectives of voluntary cooperation under Article 6 as per Article 6.1: To promote environmental integrity, to allow for a higher ambition of Parties and to support sustainable development.
