The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conversation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) supports a wide range of activities within the context of international carbon markets. The idea behind this is to increase the performance of the CDM and JI, to advance their scope towards hitherto neglected areas and to ensure their environmental integrity and contributions to sustainable development.
Furthermore, options to expand the scale of mitigation activities beyond the existing carbon mechanisms are explored by promoting innovative approaches. This brochure, which has been updated on the occasion of Carbon Expo 2014, provides an overview of funded initiatives and presents experiences made with the global carbon markets.
