The Carbon Mechanisms Review (CMR) is a specialist magazine on cooperative market-based climate action. The CMR is published by the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK)
Carbon Mechanisms Review critically appraises carbon market developments and contributes to the carbon market debate with analyses, opinion articles and background information. It primarily focuses on the cooperative approaches contained in the Paris Agreement’s Article 6. Further topics include carbon pricing initiatives of a more general nature, such as emissions trading schemes worldwide and their offsetting rules, and also project-based approaches like the joint crediting mechanism in Japan.
