At its 19th meeting, the Supervisory Body of the Article 6.4 mechanism recently adopted the first PACM methodology, “A6.4-AMM001: Flaring or use of landfill gas,” along with three related methodological tools. Additionally, a new investment analysis tool aligned with the standard for demonstrating additionality was also adopted, enabling participants to prove that carbon credit revenues are vital for their activities’ viability. These milestones unlock practical project development under PACM, allowing new submissions and mandatory updates for CDM transitions from January 2026, and strengthening the role of additionality in the carbon market.
