To further advance the development of the carbon markets and promote raising global climate protection ambitions, BMU supports a number of networking and information exchange platforms. One of these forums is the Innovate4Climate (I4C) event, which took place in 2019 for the third time.
Innovate4Climate (I4C) is a global exchange platform that promotes dialogue between the public and private sectors to mobilize funding for climate change mitigation. It brings together leaders from governments, industry, business, finance and technology to facilitate dialogue on innovative climate financing models. In the first three years of its existence, I4C has positioned itself as an outstanding global forum in the field of climate finance. Organized annually by the World Bank Group, the conference promotes investment opportunities in the areas of climate change mitigation, adaptation and resilience, it brings together organizations from different fields and thus promotes the exchange of knowledge and experience.
The third Innovate4Climate took place in Singapore from 4 to 7 June 2019. With around 1,200 participants from 82 countries, over 50 workshops were held on the topics of finance, technology, markets and resilience. The workshops were complemented by a high-level summit on key issues, such as battery storage, sustainable cooling and climate-friendly cities, as well as a marketplace for exhibitors. After Innovate4Climate has been replaced by a series of digital exchange formats in 2020, the next edition of the series of events will take place again in Barcelona from 25 to 27 May 2021.
