This webinar aims to present the key findings of the discussion paper “Country Perspectives: Opportunities and Challenges for International Voluntary Carbon Markets in the context of the Paris Agreement” prepared by the Partnership for Market Readiness (PMR) with the support of the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA). Participants will discuss what the universal scope and ambition of the Paris Agreement as well as the proliferation of corporate net-zero targets mean for the development of prospective voluntary markets in the future. The event will also consider recent developments like the Scaled up voluntary carbon markets taskforce, the voluntary carbon markets integrity (VCMI) initiative and the critical work that some countries and independent standards started doing on this.
