Carbon Pricing in the Caribbean

LACS 2021

The majority of the Caribbean countries expressed interest in participating in market mechanisms in their intended NDCs in 2015, leading up to the Paris Agreement. A similar interest can be observed in the revised/updated NDCs submitted in 2020/21. Several initiatives are currently on the ground, both led by the governments and private sector, shaping up the region's carbon pricing landscape. This side event looks to explore the developments in the region and the potential for engagement.
