February 2018 - This year’s Innovate4Climate - Finance & Markets Week (I4C) takes place in Frankfurt, Germany from 22 – 24 May. Upwards of 1,000 international stakeholders from the emissions trading, carbon markets and climate finance sectors will convene at the Kap Europa Convention Centre – among them scores of project developers and implementers, funder organisations, financial services providers, businesses and associations, including representatives from the aviation industry. With its extensive conference programme, Innovate4Climate provides a key forum for market players and decision-makers from national and international governments and administrations. In numerous panels, side events, pitch hubs and small-scale talks, high-profile experts will discuss the latest trends, research results and innovations.

Against the backdrop of the UN Climate Conference (COP24) in Katowice, Poland and the growing relevance of the Green Climate Fund, activities at Innovate4Climate are of particular importance to the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). On the one hand, the building of carbon market networks is essential to further development of the Clean Development /Joint Implementation Initiative (CDM/JI Initiative) and also in driving the UNFCCC negotiations on market-based mechanisms. On the other, Innovate4Climate is designed to strengthen ties between government leaders, financial services providers and the private sector in industrialised and developing countries.

This year, the German Pavilion at Innovate4Climate will focus on Germany’s engagement in promoting the carbon market and climate finance. On their various stands, a broad range of German exhibitors will promote their projects, initiatives and businesses to inform the specialist public about their activities and work. And with a diverse programme of panel discussions, talks and workshops, the exhibitors will make the German Pavilion a hive of activity and invite a diversified specialist public to discuss the latest project outcomes and focus topics.

Registration for the world’s biggest carbon market and climate finance fair is now open and can be accessed via the Innovate4Climate Website. For organisations and institutions wanting to finding out more about the exhibits at the German Pavilion, send a mail to:
