July 2015 - Carbon market mechanisms have the potential for fostering mitigation actions in cities. This is one of the core conclusions of this year’s Climate Technology Initiative (CTI) Workshop which took place from 7-8 May in Berlin, Germany. In addition to considering integrated climate action in cities, the workshop featured specialized sessions on the building and construction sector as well as transport and waste. The proceedings of this workshop are summarized in the current CTI-newsletter, which also presents new publications on urban climate change mitigation, a training programme on climate finance as well as a summary of an e-learning course on NAMA development.
