New Carbon Mechanisms Review analyses ways how to make progress in the negotiations

November 2017 –  This issue of the Carbon Mechanisms Review takes an outlook on the Article 6 negotiations at COP 23 in Bonn and analyses ways how to make progress, with a special emphasis on Article 6.4, as this is with the development of rules, modalities and procedures the most comprehensive product is to be developed. This view is complemented by a synopsis of Parties’ submissions related to the Article 6 talks, which were handed in right before the conference. Further articles include an analysis of the new context for the additionality requirement of cooperative action, a report on using Article 6 to support the global energy transition, and an outline of the climate ledger initiative, which aims to use blockchain technology in climate action.
